Lamento decepcionarlo señor Maussan, pero eran las luces del concierto de Natanael Cano […] Y se dejaron de ver cuando terminó la presentación.
Our translation Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Maussan, but those were the lights from the Natanael Cano concert […] And they stopped being visible when the show ended.

What we know
On the record: documents, statements, dates and places. Sources below.
- The parade videos. According to TV Azteca Morelos, TikTok user @jorgejuarezhdz posted a series of videos recorded while he filmed a group of aircraft passing during the Sept. 16 parade. In them, he noticed a black object that appeared to stay motionless in the sky. TV Azteca Morelos reported on the videos on Sept. 23.
- A diamond over the flight path. On Sept. 20, Taiwan’s TVBS reported on a video of a dark, diamond-shaped object filmed in Mexico City on Sept. 16. It was shared on X by a UFO researcher who posts as “Extraterrestre.” TVBS says the object appears among the clouds with no visible wings or exhaust trail, then crosses an aircraft flight path as a military plane passes nearby. TVBS attributes the footage to a pilot in one passage and to multiple witnesses in another. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this clip and the TikTok videos show the same object.
- The Sept. 18 light. On Sept. 22, Jaime Maussan posted images on X of an intense glow over Mexico City on the night of Sept. 18, El Heraldo de México reported.
- Official silence. TV Azteca Morelos reports that no authority has said what the parade object was. TVBS reports that no aviation authority has confirmed the content of its video. El Heraldo reports that aviation authorities have issued no report of irregularities in the capital’s airspace.
What’s claimed
Accounts, testimony and theories, as told by the people who tell them.
- From the parade. TV Azteca Morelos reports that the object caused consternation for the person who posted the video and for viewers. Some viewers suggested a camera drone or surveillance drone. According to TVBS, the pilot in its video noticed the object but couldn’t identify it. Some viewers proposed balloons, drones or light reflections, while others said its unusual shape and movement were hard to categorize.
- Maussan’s post. Maussan wrote on X: “Una misteriosa y colosal luz, sobre la Ciudad de México, la noche del pasado 18 de septiembre de 2026. Luz que podría ocultar un descomunal objeto volador que se encontrara entre las nubes.” In English: “A mysterious and colossal light over Mexico City on the night of September 18, 2026. A light that could be hiding an enormous flying object among the clouds.”
- The reaction. El Heraldo reports that the post drew thousands of reactions. Some people said they had seen the glow from different parts of the Valley of Mexico. Others suggested urban searchlights, electrical phenomena in the atmosphere or drone tests.
Three days in September
Put together, it’s a strange stretch for the capital: a dark object hanging in the sky during the parade flyover, a diamond crossing a military aircraft’s path in a clip passed around from Mexico to Taiwan, and a glow in the clouds two nights later that Maussan says could hide something huge.
None of it has an official explanation. Aviation authorities haven’t commented. For now, the footage and the people who shot it are the whole story.
